We continue our series of technology breakfasts focused on topics in the field of cybersecurity solutions. As part of this series, we gradually introduce partner and proprietary solutions within the Axians network, as well as success stories of implementations at our customers.
30.5.2025 | On Wednesday, 28 May 2025, the fifth event of the Axians Technology Breakfast series took place at the Lindner Hotel in Bratislava, where we address selected cyber security issues. Currently, we focused on two topics in the area of secure monitoring:
- Zabbix as a secure monitoring solution
The monitoring solution is one of the most common targets of attacks. Its databases contain comprehensive information about the company’s IT environment, network topology, monitored devices, servers, databases, services, virtualization and containerization technologies, and more. At the event, we presented ways to:
– how to build a highly secure and robust monitoring solution using encryption of all data flows, storing sensitive data in a digital vault environment, securing access rights, etc.
– how to audit an existing monitoring solution built on the Zabbix tool, find hidden weaknesses in the monitoring architecture, and optimize the configuration from a security perspective.
- Zabbix as a security assistant
Zabbix does not have to be used only for traditional fault and performance monitoring of the IT environment, but allows you to extend supervision to the security layer. At the event, we also presented the lesser-known possibilities that this freely available tool has in the field of IT security.
Both topics were discussed with reference to the excellent, freely available Zabbix tool for infrastructure monitoring, while the principles discussed are valid for any IT environment monitoring solution.
